Putting

Starting with the Basics

Anyone that has played any golf will realise the importance of good putting.  Tom Lehman summed it up when he said “When I putt well, I do very well. When I putt poorly, I struggle to be in the game”.

Overview

We have developed this putting course based on our research into putting statistics and biomechanics.  We will teach you grips, stance, posture and balance to ensure your set up is correct.

We will teach you about putting strokes, distance control and how to put all this together, to develop a consistent putting routine.

Chapter 1 Green Reading

What You Will Learn

We start off the putting course with green reading. The is such an important aspect of good putting and the foundation on which everything else is developed.

Green Reading

If you can’t read greens and often miss your put because you pick the wrong line, it is highly unlikely that you will be scoring below 90, 80 or par.  In this lesson we will teach you what to look out for when approaching the green and how to start reading greens.

Eye Line Method

In this lesson Green Reading Basics, we are going to show you how to use the Eyeline Green Reading Method.  This is a very common way of selecting the balls line to the hole.  However, it is also often used incorrectly.

The Fall Line

In the Finding the Fall Line lesson, we will be showing you how to find the fall line on any hole.  The reason we show you this is so, you can practice your putting technique on your practice green, without the concern of breaking putts.

Aimpoint Express Method

The aim Point express green reading system was invented by Mark Sweeney, a keen amateur golfer, who also designed the putting line imagery for golf on tv.  In the lesson, we are going to show you how to use this system.

Chapter 2 Putting Fundamentals

What You Will Learn

We start off the practical element of our putting course with a technique overview and then break down each element that make up a biomechanically sound putting stroke.

Putting Overview

In this lesson we are going to give you a whistle stop tour, through each element of a biomechanically sound putting technique.

Stance Posture & Balance

In this lesson, we are going to teach the fundamentals of the putting set up.  This will give you a good base to make the putt from.

Putting Rhythm

In this lesson, we are going to look at puttting distance control and how it is affected by your putting rhythm.

Putting Grips

In this lesson, we will be discussing putting grip variations, to help you work out the one works best for you.

Putting Strokes
